Hope Shannon, Ph.D., is a history professional who specializes in heritage and memory politics, public history, local history organizations, and urban history. She consults with Omnia History, a public history collaborative she co-founded with Rachel Boyle, Ph.D., in 2017, and she is the current Executive Director of the Urban History Association. She is also a former executive director of the South End Historical Society in Boston, MA, and has been working with local history institutions in Boston and Chicago to help them reach their fullest potential as vital community assets for more than ten years.
