Hope Shannon is a history professional who specializes in public history, local history organizations, and urban history. She is the former executive director of the South End Historical Society in Boston, MA and has been working with local history institutions in Boston and Chicago to help them reach their fullest potential as vital community assets for the past ten years.

Hope is also the author of Legendary Locals of Boston’s South End. She holds a MA in history from Simmons College and a BA in history and archaeology from Boston University. She is currently a PhD candidate in United States history and public history at Loyola University Chicago.
